Gainesville Heart Group is working with the American Heart Association to raise money for the 2010 Heart Walk.  Gainesville Heart Group is selling raffle tickets for the baskets of goodies for $1 per basket.  The winners will be drawn on September 25^th, 2010 at the heart walk. 

The Northeast Georgia Division of the American Heart Association invites you to join the fight against cardiovascular disease and stroke by considering an in-kind donation to be used at the 2010 Heart Walk.  The 2010 Heart Walk will be held at Riverside Military Academy on September 25, 2010 and is expected to be attended by 1800 walkers.  This fundraiser is an established and recognized event in the area that raises over $100,000 each year for cardiovascular education and research projects.

February 28, 2010

The month of February is traditionally known as Heart Month. The Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville sponsors many activities during this period, including talks and lectures by experts to increase heart health awareness in the community.

A radio interview with Dr. Bernardine King of the Gainesville Heart Group was aired on the WDUN morning program “ The Local Hour with B.J. and Katie” in order to speak to  heart health awareness particularly in women.

As one of the sponsors of this event, the Gainesville Heart Group participated in the AHA Heart Walk last Saturday, September 19 at The Riverside Military Academy. The annual event is held to raise community awareness about stroke & heart disease.

In order to serve their patients & community better, the Gainesville Heart Group (GHG) launched their new Website on September 19, 2009.

Some of the benefits are:

• Our clients will have access to  GHG information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Our clients will be able to provide feedback to our staff in a structured process.
• With use of information on the Website, the patient "check in" process will be expedited & thus, making it more comfortable for our clients.
• It improves GHG's ability to foster patient health education.

Said chief partner David Johnson, "We constantly seek new ways to strengthen the services that we offer. The creation of the GHG Website is a small measure in accomplishing this but will reap big rewards in better serving our client community".
